INTEGRATED ILLUMINATORS FOR SPACE AND COST SAVINGS
Illuminators are often used for vision inspection.
A standard illuminator is usually controlled by a driver. In case a system uses many illuminators, there will be as many drivers on the machine.
The analysis highlighted the following improvement points:
- Would it be possible to carry out the functions of the drivers in an alternative way, reducing footprint and costs?
- Would it be possibile to reduce the cable length, which in some case is routed to main cabinet (power – trigger) then back to LED driver (strobe)?
AV Electronics redesigned the components, integrating what is needed directly on the illuminator itself.
NEW INTEGRATED UNIT: SMART ILLUMINATORS
Both the camera connector and the input connector are integrated on the illuminator, thus creating a plug-in and smart component able to communicate bi-directionally with camers.
This pre-assembled integration reduces needed wires, components and spaces.
